This event is the first of six events in the next 9 months organized by the new Center for Free Enterprise and sponsored by Key Private Bank, The Calkins Law Firm, and Red Hawk Associates.

Jay Freund, Partner, Canal Holdings, a private equity firm investing mezzanine debt for growing businesses at the smaller end of the middle market.  Prior to joining Canal in 2014, Jay’s 20 year career has been focused upon the financial transaction sector, including investment banking and principal investing in private equity, mezzanine and limited partnership commitments.  

Brad Eldridge, Founder of BSE Partners, a full service accounting, valuation and forensic examination firm.  Brad is a member of the Ohio Society and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Society of Appraisers, the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors and has served on numerous boards of community organizations including BalletMet, Junior Achievement of Columbus, and Children’s Hospital.

Gallagher & Co. is one of the largest firms in the world, providing brokerage and consulting services in Property & Casualty, Risk Management, Workers ’ Compensation, Human Resources, Employee Benefits and Compensation.  With nearly 15 years in the employee benefits industry, Ethan leads a team that specializes in working with mid-market employers throughout the country by providing strategic employee benefit planning services.

Ben Calkins, Esq., Founder of The Calkins Law Firm, Ltd., is an experienced transaction attorney with a wide range of manufacturing, service and technology Clients. He established his firm in 2015, after stints at Squire Sanders, Benesch and Spieth Bell, to better serve his Clients.

Moderator: David Brown, Managing Director of Red Hawk Associates, provides advice on the acquisition, sale or restructuring of middle market businesses.  He founded Red Hawk in 1998 after leading many engagements for the predecessor companies to Deloitte Consulting, Key Capital and a turnaround management firm.
